As a young lady she realized she had found her passion in life in feeling the warmth in her soul being a part of someone’s life’s occasion. As a certified event planner, her desire to make planning tools accessible to anyone who wants to be involved in all their special days started her company mission.

An overnight guest service agent at the premier historical hotel in Coronado, Calif. This was my introduction to the hospitality industry as a front desk agent, which set my standard for outstanding customer care.
A day-of assistant to a professional event planner in Orange County, Calif. I was responsible for the smooth management of vendors as well as assisting the couple, their guests and party to ensure we exceeded their wedding day expectations.
My first full-time hospitality position as a supervisor for the flagship restaurant at the University of San Diego, USD. I quickly took a hands-on approach, asked too many questions and absorbed as much as I could about food and beverage service.
Sales & Operations
The sales manager role required development and performance of all sales activities for the Banquets & Catering Office at USD. Managing banquet event orders for over 2,500+ events per year and being the University’s President hostess with our catering team, made for long days but lasting relationships.
The “IY” Idea
This was the culmination of those four years in the hospitality industry along with reading mounds of wedding magazines, I knew there had to be an simply and easy way to plan events. It became the time for me to gain knowledge, find confidence and frame my design vision in the next half of my career for Hospitality Services at USD.
Restaurant & Management
The restaurant general manager role saw me responsible for the administrative staffing and leadership, budget and financial supervision, training, marketing, special event sales and operations for a 200+ seated restaurant. Yes, that was a mouthful and yes, I worked a lot. But it was one of the most rewarding times in my life and above all it was there where I created my design eye.
Fundraising & Partnerships
The assistant director for university events role provided exposure to the complete package of event planning. I utilized my event management certification to implement the four phases of event planning. Our team developed events for Advancement Services, President’s Office and campus departments. The opportunity to be part of fundraising events for the university was a perfect way to end my time at USD.
